Farringdon Court, Farringdon

Farringdon CourtThe project comprised the conversion of a late 19th Century Grade 2 listed stone and brick built barn into a residential property providing contemporary ‘open plan’ living accommodation spread over three floors.

The barn was the end unit of a group of eight around a ‘U’ shaped courtyard in the East Devon countryside, with the barn purchased from the developer as a serviced shell for design and completion of the internal spaces.

Despite the Grade 2 listing, permission was granted for new openings and a contemporary interior designed to maximise the high barn spaces and expose the roof structure. The brick cylinder and feature spiral staircase were prominent focal points to the property, with all rooms leading from this central circulation space.
