Residential re-development on an exposed coastal site in Budleigh Salterton to provide a contemporary 4 bedroom house set on a steeply sloping site overlooking the sea.
Design incorporated reverse level accommodation, with large terraces to the living areas over the roof of the lower floor bedrooms. A tensile structure of green oak masts and cotton sails was integrated into the building’s structure to provide covered external dining areas and solar protection to the large glazed areas.
Property featured in two national publications, ’25 Beautiful Homes’ and ‘Homebuilding & Renovating’. Awarded first place for quality of design, materials and sensitivity to the site and surroundings in the bi-annual design awards presented by Otter Valley Association for projects in the East Devon area.
